Jaegerstaetter Relic installed in St. Mary's Cathedral in Linz

One week after the beatification of the martyr Franz Jaegerstaetter on the national holiday, the relic was consecrated in a high mass and placed in a stele. This sits by the altar, which is consecrated to Mary?Queen of the Martyrs.

At the close of the service of the feast of all saints, the so-called Jaegerstaetter song "You Call Me in the Dark(ness) of this Time? rang out as the relic was carried through the cathedral in a celebratory procession to the stele.  Among the faithful of the diocese of Linz, the relic has received a place of honor in the radiating chapel of the cathedral.

The black stele which carries the relic is about two meters high.  At the top is an inscription of the quotation taken from Paul?s letter to the Romans, which Jaegerstaetter wrote in his letters again and again, "What can separate us from the love of Christ?? Romans 8:35.
