There has long been no talk of miracles
Possibly we do not need miracles any more, because we have knocked enough hard nuts scientifically. Or because our trust in God is rock solid without any solid proof.
Or rather, because it has long since been so thoroughly blown away that no strongest miracle breath can bring it back.
Maybe we don't want miracles anymore, they would be annoying for our enlightened brain.
And if there are still miracles, we have blind eyes, close them tightly enough, look in another direction and would urgently need the additional miracle of recognizing miracles.
And should we actually recognize a miracle as such, gratitude never again fills our hearts so full that our mouths overflow, and no one finds out about it.
That's why today "wonderful" is an old-fashioned word for cool, awesome and great.
